    1. This book offers good fundamental advice about adopting and caring for a cat. The book seemed to be a bit focused on kittens, but otherwise was very helpful in decoding a cat's behavior. I especially liked the emphasis on teaching children to let a cat come to you and not overwhelming her with your love, something that our girls had a bit of trouble with, especially when they were younger.
